About Us

Nosso Talho was established in 1974 by two Portuguese immigrants, Julio Lima and Francisco Silva. They built a small butcher shop where it is now known as "Little Portugal" at 1326 Dundas st west. This small butcher shop was built for and by the community. For this reason it was named "O Nosso Talho", which translates from Portuguese to "Our Butcher Shop". With the community in mind and the simple philosophy of providing customers with service, selection and quality products at a fair price, Nosso Talho has been growing for over 45 years.

Today Nosso Talho is known as the place "Where Quality MEATS Value". With one of the largest full service meat counters in the GTA and two local neighbourhood butcher shops at 1326 Dundas Street West and 1042 Bloor Street West.

We offer our customers quality Beef, Pork, Lamb, Veal, Poultry and Game meats. Nosso Talho also offers a full-service deli, imported goods from Portugal and South America, local fresh produce, and much more.

Nosso Talho established a third retail location in 2013, in partnership with Food Basics operating as "Our Butcher Shop" and "Our Seafood Market" located within the Food Basics Supermarket at 1070 Major Mackenzie Dr East in Richmond Hill. You’ll find the same premium meats and seafood in our full-service meat and seafood counters that we carry in our downtown locations.

We also offer wholesale services through our Wholesale operation (Est 2009) that provides quality proteins to many of your favourite restaurants in the GTA and southern Ontario.
