About Us


Arun Martial Arts(AMA) originated in Mississauga, Canada in April 2020 having its roots in India for the past 35 years. The proud founders of Arun Martial Arts are Shihan.Arun.PAP and Sensei.Arthi Jeeva Kathirvel. AMA predominantly teaches Japanese Karate(Shito-Ryu style) affiliated with the World Karate Federation. AMA is an active member of Karate Ontario, a government body recognised by the Ontario government for Karate.

Shihan Arun PAP started his Karate journey in his 10 years in India. He trained under top and great coaches in India. His Karate jouney being Intense and vast, he has 35 years of experience in teaching Sports Karate and Traditional Martial Arts. He has participated in various Provincial, National and International Tournaments and have won more than 500 medals in his career. He owns a 5th DAN(GO-DAN) Black Belt in Karate(Shito-Ryu) style. His sports roots are from his father who was a Badmitton player. Shihan Arun PAP started his Karate coaching right from his 15 years and the rest is history. He has created more than 53 Interational medalists from rural places in India and have been a life changer for many students. Shihan Arun PAP has created 80+ Judo and Karate coaches and countless amateur and pro athletes. He has travelled across countries as an Athlete and a Coach with a big team who always return home with medals and laurels.


He holds a M.D in Accupunture and a Masters in Foreign Trade and a Former Deputy Vice President in Kotak Life Insurance, India


In 2019, when he got a chance to move to Canada, he continued his Karate journey in Mississauga, Canada and became a Karate Ontario licensed Referee A and Judge A official. In 2020, he found Arun Martial Arts and started teaching Karate in Mississauga.


Within a few months of his training, his students started winning medals in the Provincial Recreational Karate championships conducted by Karate Ontario. His passion, dedication, experience, friendly but disciplined nature has helped his students to learn the martial arts in the right way and win tournaments and championships.
